S2S Adds CEO To Lead Strategic Growth Of Organization

Shelters to Shutters (S2S), a non-profit organization that works with apartment industry and real estate professionals to offer opportunity and economic independence to those facing homelessness, announced today that Andrew Helmer has joined the organization as Chief Executive Officer.  Mr. Helmer brings to Shelters to Shutters over 20 years of sales and management experience in both start-up technology and corporate environments with a proven track record of implementing strategic growth initiatives that provide measurable results.

We are excited to build upon the success of the organization’s first two years and bring Shelters to Shutters to a new level with Andy at the helm.”

Shelters to Shutters was founded in 2014 and since has helped over 50 individuals transition from the challenge of being homeless to a life of economic self-sufficiency. With operations in 13 different cities and currently 10 property management partners, Mr. Helmer will work to grow the program’s impact and provide the greatest amount of return on investment for all stakeholders involved.

Most recently, Helmer served as Senior Vice President of Data Solutions for Neustar (NYSE: NSR), a trusted, neutral provider of real-time cloud-based information and analysis to a variety of industries based in Sterling, VA.

Mr. Helmer graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1992, where he received his degree in Business and Political Science.  Mr. Helmer grew up in Lancaster, PA and now resides in Oakton, VA with his wife Katie and daughters, Kinsley (13) and Bryce (10).
