“I’m from Southeast DC. Most times it’s not safe and success is hard to come by. Many don’t make it out of where I’m from. I worked hard to gain many certifications through free programs provided by DC and other out-of-state programs to make a living, but when I fell on hard times, I couldn’t find work using any of them,” shared Entryway graduate Jazmine.
Entryway connected with Jazmine in July 2023 through a partnership with the Washington D.C. Department of Employment Services. As a new mom, she was determined to provide for her baby and dedicated herself to our training and hiring events.
“Through Entryway, I was able to learn leasing. The first time around, I didn’t get hired and had to wait two more months. Of course, I was discouraged, but I didn’t give up. I was determined to get a job. I surrendered to God and allowed Him to work on my behalf. But then, the company that had interviewed me through Entryway called me back for a new position and I was hired, I started my new life in January 2024.”
Jazmine was hired as a leasing consultant with Donaldson Group and eighteen months later, she’s still in that position and thriving!
“Because of this opportunity, I was able to move out of DC, buy myself a car, put my child in a good school, and even enroll myself into real estate classes at Montgomery College to pursue a career in real estate. I never thought I would end up in property management. My dream was to be a community outreach leader, but Entryway helped change my life. Giving me the stability, hope, and foundation to keep moving forward toward even greater success. Entryway truly stands up to its name creating a way for minorities to get the same opportunities as others but for free. Helping people find not just careers, but homes. Thank you, Entryway!”
