Entryway brings workforce training, career pathways, and housing stability to individuals and families facing situational homelessness in Columbus
Vienna, VA – July 15, 2025- Entryway, a national nonprofit working at the intersection of homelessness, employment, and housing today announced the launch of its program into Columbus, Ohio. Entryway provides job specific career training and connects people facing situational homelessness with full-time employment and affordable housing opportunities with their 90 plus multifamily housing industry partners. The Columbus launch brings this proven approach to Central Ohio—where rising housing needs and workforce shortages demand bold, collaborative solutions.
“We are thrilled to bring Entryway to Columbus—a city where multiple leaders and stakeholders welcomed our program and share our vision for lasting change,” said David Williams, President & CEO of Entryway. “Together we have the opportunity to help individuals and families facing situational homelessness—people who are ready to work and rebuild their lives. This expansion represents what Entryway does best: harnessing the power of industry and community to provide a win-win solution for both.”

Leading the Columbus launch is Jason Gray, who has been named the first Executive Director for Entryway Columbus. With over 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, workforce development, and fundraising, Gray brings a strong track record of community building and cross-sector collaboration.
“Entryway’s mission deeply resonates with me because it’s about dignity, economic mobility, and second chances,” said Gray. “I’m honored to lead our work in Columbus and excited to partner with local leaders to build lasting solutions.”

With homelessness and housing instability rising across the region, Entryway’s launch comes at a pivotal moment for Central Ohio. At the same time, the multifamily industry faces pressing workforce shortages—especially in entry-level and maintenance roles.
Entryway’s program is designed to solve both challenges at once: empowering individuals ready for a second chance, while building a sustainable talent pipeline for the housing industry.
Since its inception, Entryway has assisted over 1,000 individuals out of homelessness with its multifamily partners, providing an additional 1,300 individuals with career training and resources to assist in their path back to stability.
Entryway is actively seeking employer partners, donors, and housing providers to support its growing Columbus operations.
