When Marc lost his career as a long-haul truck driver, he never imagined he would one day find himself experiencing homelessness in Phoenix.
Determined to rebuild his life, Marc committed himself to a fresh start. While searching for a way forward, he saw a local news story about Entryway Arizona. Inspired by what he saw, he reached out.
Entryway Arizona Executive Director, Mandy Porter-Griffith, connected Marc with housing at Rosalie’s Place, a workforce shelter operated by St. Vincent de Paul, and enrolled him in a Make-Ready Maintenance training program hosted by PB Bell and supported by The Phoenix Staffing. Despite having limited technology skills and little experience using many of today’s job search tools, Marc embraced every opportunity to learn and grow.
In June 2025, Marc was hired by PB Bell as a Make-Ready Technician. More than a year later, he remains employed, stably housed, and thriving.
“Working here has been absolutely wonderful,” Marc said. “I’ve finally been able to save money, and I’m so grateful to no longer be living in a shelter.”
Since joining Entryway, Marc has purchased a vehicle, gained employer-sponsored health insurance, built financial stability, and, most importantly, regained his confidence.
“I have gained so much stability and confidence,” he shared. “Starting out in a shelter at my age really took away my confidence. I feel great now.”
Today, Marc continues to grow his career in the multifamily industry and dreams of one day owning property in Arizona.
Marc’s journey has come full circle. The same news story that introduced him to Entryway inspired him to take the first step toward a new future. In July of 2026, ABC15 returned to share his success story, demonstrating the transformational impact that employment, housing, and opportunity can have on someone’s life.
