Entryway Greater Phoenix Expands Services to Alleviate Homelessness in Arizona

VIENNA, VA – September 13, 2024 – Entryway, a workforce development, employment and housing program, announced today its Entryway Greater Phoenix operations will expand services to serve individuals and families in Tucson and Flagstaff, becoming Entryway Arizona.

Entryway Arizona will aim to meet the needs of the growing number of individuals and families facing homelessness through career training, employment and housing opportunities.

“As a leader overseeing numerous multifamily communities across the state, I’ve witnessed the need for Entryway’s programs and mentorship in Southern Arizona and Northern Arizona,” shared Entryway Arizona board member and Western Wealth Communities President Jennifer Staciokas. “From professional clothing drives to mentorship and job interviews in Tucson and Flagstaff, I am proud that Entryway’s board and leadership team have prioritized expansion efforts to reach the growing needs of individuals experiencing situational homelessness in Southern Arizona as we empower them to secure stable housing and high-caliber jobs with our valued real estate partners.”

Entryway sources, screens, trains and places highly motivated and capable individuals in high demand on-site jobs in partnership with leading apartment owners and operators. The organization works with multiple referring partners, such as Salvation Army, Maggie’s Place, and St. Vincent de Paul, to identify job applicants who are struggling with or at risk of homelessness. Entryway upskills program participants through online and in-person training opportunities to get them ready for full time positions in the apartment industry such as leasing, maintenance and grounds keeping. Entryway also offers participants interview skills, job coaching, financial literacy and access to 1:1 mentoring.  The program changes the lives of individuals and families while providing quality, motivated employees for a rapidly growing industry in need of talent.

Entryway relies on the generosity and support of individuals, community partners, and mission aligned companies committed to alleviating homelessness. Entryway current needs include:

  • September Professional Clothing Drive: Drop-off donations from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Western Wealth Communities, 5005 E. Washington St., Phoenix to assist Entryway participants in Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff with interview and job ready essentials
  • Volunteers to serve as mentors for program participants
  • Hygiene and welcome home kits
  • Financial donations and end of year fundraising including the Arizona Tax Credit program participation.
