Alex Bensahel and Dan Din added to National Capital Region City Advisory Board

Vienna, VA – March 7, 2022 — Shelters to Shutters (S2S) is pleased to welcome to its National Capital Region City Advisory Board Alex Bensahel, Director of Investment Sales of the Mid-Atlantic Region for Eastern Union, and Dan Din, Senior Managing Director, Co-Head Impact Housing at Kayne Anderson (KA) Real Estate.  The new additions to the Shelters to Shutters National Capital Region City Advisory Board will support the S2S mission to transition individuals and families from homelessness to economic self-sufficiency through partnerships with apartment companies

S2S partners with over 30 apartment management companies to place people experiencing homelessness in onsite, entry-level jobs, and provide them with housing at the same communities where they work. S2S provides each participant with career mentoring and access to support services to ensure a successful long-term transition. S2S works with multiple homeless-focused non-profits to identify suitable job applicants. The program changes the lives of individuals and families while providing quality, motivated employees for a rapidly growing industry in need of talent.

Alex Bensahel closed on over $150 million of real estate in 2021 at Eastern Union, a national commercial real estate firm that provides both capital markets advisory services and financing services and has an active deal flow of over $350 million. Through his knowledge and experience in the finance sector, he packages proper underwriting models and pro-forma for his clients to secure the deal’s closure in a short amount of time.  Alex, born in France, attended college in Switzerland where he majored in Finance and minored in Hospitality Development and Management.

Dan Din is co-head of the Impact Housing team at KA Real Estate.  He is responsible for sourcing, analysis, underwriting and execution of investment strategies and works with joint venture partners to oversee day-to-day management of KA Real Estate’s multifamily housing impact investments.  Prior to joining Kayne Anderson in 2021, Dan had over 14 years real estate experience, most recently as the Senior Product Manager for the Amazon Housing Equity Fund where he led Amazon’s efforts in housing affordability and finance. Dan received an MBA in real estate from Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Science in information systems technology from George Washington University and a bachelor’s in economics from the University of Virginia.
