VIENNA, Va. – July 7, 2022 – Shelters to Shutters (S2S) is pleased to welcome to its Greater Phoenix Advisory Board, Dave McLurg, Founding Partner and Chairman of Anavate Partners, a global best-in-cloud technology advisory and implementation firm. He is a founding member of the Advisory Board and donor leading the launch of Shelters to Shutters to serve the Valley and the Greater Phoenix area.

Dave McLurg brings over 40 years of accomplished Entrepreneurial, Executive, Board Member and Investor experience in developing market leading businesses domestically and internationally in diversified industries and across the spectrum of successful start-ups, emerging companies and the Fortune 500.  His street smarts and talented leadership ability dramatically builds, turns around, and reorganizes businesses to drive revenue, improve profitability, mitigate risk and optimize efficiency across both robust and volatile business cycles with a primary goal of consistent and managed profitable growth.

“I am thrilled to join the mission of Shelters to Shutters to assist individuals and families here in the Phoenix area,” said Dave. “S2S has a unique win-win model that provides both employment and housing to those facing homelessness while simultaneously offering quality, motivated talent for apartment companies looking to fill their open onsite positions. It’s an exciting opportunity to be a part of the leadership team launching this innovative program in our community.”

S2S partners with over 30 apartment owners and operators across Atlanta, Charlotte, Charleston, Houston, Nashville, National Capital Region, Orlando and Phoenix to place people experiencing homelessness in onsite, entry-level jobs, and provide them with housing at the same communities where they work. S2S provides each participant with career mentoring, technical training, financial literacy and access to support services to ensure a successful long-term transition. S2S works with multiple referring partners to identify suitable job applicants. The program changes the lives of individuals and families while providing quality, motivated employees for a rapidly growing industry in need of talent.

“Dave is exactly the type of leader that we need for our Greater Phoenix Advisory Board to raise awareness and support for Shelters to Shutters’ mission,” said Jay Petkunas, CEO of The Wolff Company and Chairman of Shelters to Shutters’ Phoenix City Advisory Board. “His enthusiasm for the mission, business leadership experience and his personal commitment to giving back will no doubt be a catalyst for our success here in the Valley.”

The Wolff Company, integrated real estate investment firm focused on the mission-driven development and management of rental communities across North America, funded S2S’s expansion into the Phoenix Market.
